Gasoline is 20 Cents

How about this from when gasoline was 20 cents? I can remember when Gas was still 36 cents in the mid 1960's..

It actually wasn't too long ago when gasoline was around $1.50 per gallon if you remember? That was just about the time when George Bush took over our fine nation.

2008 Dodge Challenger

I posted this Dodge Challenger a few days ago along with the 1938 Plymouth photo that was my father's first car.

That posting gave short attention to this deserving Dodge.

This car was on the corner at Wilson Motors here in Corvallis for one week. Just this one and no more. This is a limited production car this year and we don't usually see this kind of thing in this little town. I called Wilson Motors today and this particular car was pre-sold and is now gone.

Dodge is going to make this a production car that you and I can purchase for 2009. They plan to make three versions of Challenger for 2009 he said. Mid $20's, mid $30's and somewhere in the $60,000 range.. I will go look at one if we happen to get one here in Corvallis next year. Maybe I can buy one of the mid $20's if they get more than one in stock?

Colorful Icebergs

These icebergs have layers of various colors of ice from cracks that formed over time, and then fresh water and salt water seep in and then froze.

At least that is what I was told. However this happens it sure is beautiful.

This is the message that came along with the email that accompanied these amazing photos.

Amazing striped icebergs Icebergs in the Antarctic area sometimes have stripes, formed by layers of snow that react to different conditions. Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet fills up with meltwater and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form. When an iceberg falls into the sea, a layer of salty seawater can freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can form a green stripe. Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the sea.
